Short version: we collect what you type into our forms, we use it to place a puppy with you, we do not sell it to anybody, and you can ask us to delete it.
This is a plain-English starting point, not legal advice. You are a data controller under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. If you take enquiries from the EU as well, you may need an EU representative. Check whether you must register with the ICO — most small breeders handling personal data do, and the fee is modest. Have this reviewed before you publish it.
What we collect
Whatever you enter in the puppy application or the contact form: your name, contact details, where you live, your postcode, details of your household and other animals, your veterinary practice, and anything else you choose to tell us. Our web host keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for a short period.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests — deciding whether to place a puppy with you, which is why you contacted us — and, once you buy a puppy, performance of a contract and our legal obligations as a breeder.
Why we collect it
To decide whether we can place a puppy with you, to match a specific puppy to your household, and to stay in touch about that dog for its life. If you become a buyer we also keep the records of your invoices and payments, because we are required to.
Who sees it
Only us. We do not sell, rent, or share your details with other breeders, advertisers, or list brokers. We may contact the veterinary practice you name as a reference, and only with your permission. Your details are stored on our own systems within the UK, and the application database is not publicly reachable.
How long we keep it
Applications we do not take forward are deleted after two years. If we place a puppy with you, we keep your contact details and that dog's records for the dog's lifetime plus seven years — that is what lets us honour the take-back clause and answer questions about a dog years later. Financial records are kept for as long as tax law requires.
Your choices
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to object to how we use it, and to receive a copy in a portable form. Email or telephone us and we will do it, free of charge, within one month. The one exception is records tied to a dog we have placed or to a completed sale, which we must keep.
The application form also saves a draft in your own browser so you can finish it later — that copy never leaves your device, and clearing your browser data removes it.
If you think we have handled your data badly, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies and tracking
This website sets no advertising or tracking cookies and carries no third-party analytics. Your light or dark theme preference and your application draft are stored in your browser's local storage, on your device only.
